The U.S. dollar fell against the Vietnamese dong on the black market Saturday morning.
Unofficial exchange points sold the dollar 0.17% lower at VND25,840.
Vietcombank maintained its rate at VND25,690.
The State Bank of Vietnam’s reference rate was stable at VND24,730.
The dollar has increased by 0.54% against the dong since the beginning of the year.
Globally the U.S. dollar dropped to multi-month lows against the euro and yen and fell versus most currencies on Friday after data showed the labor market in the world's largest economy slowed last month, creating fewer jobs than expected, Reuters reported.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback's value versus six major currencies, has fallen 3.5% this week, on track for its worst weekly performance since November 2022. It fell 0.4% on Friday to 103.81, after earlier sliding to its lowest since early November.
